About Seva Mandal Education Society

The foundation for Seva Mandal Education Society was laid in 1957 when it began its first college for women with merely seven students. It has gradually expanded over a period of time, both in terms of the number of students as well as the programs offered. The Society has been successfully imparting qualitative education to women for over five decades, and has a student strength of more than 6500 women students on the campus. It offers a variety of programs ranging from Certificate and Diploma programs, Junior College, undergraduate Degree programs and post graduate Degree and Diploma courses. The mission of SMES is to strive for the ‘Empowerment of Women through Quality in Education’, and our institution has been working towards this goal with great determination and dedication. It particularly provides an opportunity for those women who would otherwise be deprived of higher education because of conservative family backgrounds, to avail of qualitative educational facilities, thereby enabling them to become self-sufficient. Smt. Kamlaben Gambhirchand Shah Law School was opened in the campus providing B.B.A. LL.B Course in 2009.
