Our Principal, Staff and students were happy to host the 2nd National Moot Court Competition on 18th and 19th February 2017 when 18 Law colleges from Maharashtra and outside competed. Mr. Abhinandan B. Vagyani, Govt. Pleader, A.S. (Writ Cell) Bombay High Court, was the Chief Guest at the Inaugural function.
Supreme Court Advocate Nadirshaw Dhondy and Shri Chivukula Harnath (Reliance Group) were the judges for the semi-Final rounds. On 19th, Dr. Mrs. Shalini Phansalkar-Joshi, Bombay High Court judge adjudged Symbiosis Law School as the Best Team. The Runners Up Team was New Law College.
International Council of Jurists, London organized an International Law Conference on ‘International Terrorism’ at Sahaydri House, Mumbai on 25th March. Mrs. Pratibha Patil, ex-President of India, Shri J.P. Dep - Chief Justice of Sri Lanka and Shri K. R. Balkrishna, ex-Chief Justice of India were the illustrious dignitaries who graced the occasion. Mr. T. M. Jethani, I/C Principal of Smt. Kamlaben Gambhirchand Shah Law School spoke on ‘Empowerment of Women’ in the noon session.
On World Environment Day – 5th June 2016, our Institute marked the day by distributing Tulsi and Neem saplings to various College Principals and Heads of Department. Greeting cards with the logo and slogan of United Nations were distributed. Then, on 5th July 2016, World Environment Day was celebrated by organizing a Guest Lecture for the students. Every year, we also hold an Environment Exhibition. The United National Environment Development Programme (UNDP) was explained to the students and various cases / issues of environment of High Court and Supreme Court are taught in the Practical subject, as per curriculum.
Asst. Professors R. Kardak & S. Bagwe, accompanied F Y BBA LL.B. students and T. Y. BBA LL.B. students to the National Green Tribunal (Environmental Court) in December and they were appraised of Environmental litigations which are handled by the National Green Tribunal at Pune.
Our Smt. K. G. Law School students have actively participated in 9 State and National Moot Court competitions hosted by various Law Schools across India. Two students from BBA LL.B. participated in a Debate competition on Common Civil Law at DES Shri Navatmal Firodia Law College, Pune.
A Seminar on the Consumer Protection Act was organized by New Law College, Ahmadnagar from 15th to 17th September 2016 which was attended by three students. Three T.Y. BBA LL.B. students participated in the 16th Henry Durant Memorial Moot Court Competition at Delhi.
Two students participated in 12th Client counseling competition at K. C. Law College, Churchgate.
Three students from F.Y. LL.B. took part in a 2-Day State level Seminar on "Challenges before Social Boycott Act 2016" at HRSPM’s Law College, Rajgurunagar on 6th & 7th Jan. ’17. Three students participated in the National Moot Court Competition held by Amity University, Mumbai on 2nd & 3rd February 2017.
On 11 & 12th Feb.2017, three students participated in the National Level Law Fest at G. J. Advani Law College on ‘Demonetization’.
For getting expertise and knowledge in preparing the Memorials for arguing the cases/issues, we have installed Manupatra online Journal for easy access to various cases and judgements.
